Company Profile:

The journey of Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI), popularly known as Pusa Institute, began in 1905 at Pusa (Bihar) with the generous grant of 30,000 pounds from an American philanthropist, Mr. Henry Phipps. The institute was then known as Agricultural Research Institute (ARI) which functioned with five departments, namely Agriculture, Cattle Breeding, Chemistry, Economic Botany and Mycology. Bacteriology unit was added in 1907. The name of ARI was changed to Imperial Institute of Agricultural Research in 1911 and, in 1919 it was renamed as Imperial Agricultural Research Institute. Following a devastating earth quake on 15th January 1934, the institute was shifted to New Delhi on 29th July 1936. Post independence, the institute has been renamed as Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI).

Job Details:

Project Title: Consortium Research Platform (CRP) on Genomics-Pathogenomics.

No of Post: 01 Post.

Emoluments: Rs 25000/- plus 30% HRA.

Essential Qualifications: Masters degree in the following subjects* with 4 years/5 years of Bachelor’s degree. Candidates having post graduate degree in Basic Sciences with 3 years Bachelor’s degree and 2 years Master’s degree should have NET qualifications as mentioned in the OM SR/S9/Z-09/2012 of DST dated 21-10-2014 *MSc (Ag)/*MSc in Plant Pathology or *Life Sciences/Plant Sciences/ Biotechnology/Microbiology/Botany with 2 years of research experience.

Desirable: Hands on experience in Plant pathological AND Molecular Biological AND Biotechnological tools. Proficiency in bioinformatics and molecular sequence data analysis.

Age Limit: The age should be maximum 35 years for male and 40 years for female and age relaxation of 3 years for SC/ST/OBC is applicable as per Govt. of India/ICAR rules.
