Three departments, CSE, EE & ME were initiated. The first year had its highs and lows but was an exciting period that will be etched in the minds of the pioneer batch. In January 2009, IIT Bombay admitted 11 PhD students. On February, 27, 2009, the foundation stone of IIT Bombay was laid by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon'ble Chairperson of UPA. For the 2009-10 academic year, IITH will be admitting 120 B.Tech. students, 35 M.Tech. students and 10-15 Ph.D. students.

Consolidated salary Rs.25000/- p.m. + HRA
|Qualification||Essential: Post graduate degree in Atmospheric Sciences, Environmental Studies, Earth Sciences, Engineering (Civil, Chemical, Computer Science) with a First Class from a reputed institute. A minimum of 1 year work experience related to atmospheric modelling and handling the analysis of model outputs. Desirable: 1. GATE/ NET Qualified. 2. Experience in handling Weather Research and Forecasting (WRF) models. 3. Familiarity with scientific languages like C, python, shell scripting and experience in MATLAB, FERRET and NCL|
|Job Profile||1.Porting and benchmarking the Wrf-Chem model on a cluster.
2.Carrying out simulations, analysis and model validation of aerosol and climate variables.
3.Scientific documentation and paper writing.
