In a very short time, just about a year, IIT Hyderabad has made significant strides. IIT Hyderabad admitted the first batch of 111 B.Tech. students, and started functioning on August 20, 2008. Three departments, CSE, EE & ME were initiated. The first year had its highs and lows but was an exciting period that will be etched in the minds of the pioneer batch. In January 2009, IIT Hyderabad admitted 11 PhD students. On February, 27, 2009, the foundation stone of IIT Hyderabad was laid by Smt. Sonia Gandhi, Hon'ble Chairperson of UPA. For the 2009-10 academic year, IITH will be admitting 120 B.Tech. students, 35 M.Tech. students and 10-15 Ph.D. students.

Job Details:

Title of the Project: Investigation of the carrier surface recombination in III-V semiconductors for on-chip nanophotonic applications.

Funding details: SERB-ECR/2018/002664.

Duration: 11 months and renewable based on performance.

Emoluments: Rs. 31,000/- per month for first two years and 35,000/- for the third year No HRA will be provided.

Eligibility Details:

Candidate should not be more than 30 years.

The candidate must have the following degrees:

a. Bachelor’s degree in ECE/EE/EP/Physics or equivalent braches with a minimum 70% marks or equivalent CGPA.
b. Master’s degree in Microelectronics/Nanotechnology/Physics or any relevant area.

Requisite Experience:

Strong fundamentals in electromagnetics, semiconductor devices, quantum mechanics and optics.
Experimental skills and proficiency in programming in MATLAB/Python along with good communication skills.
Should be ready to work in cleanroom to fabricate nanophotonic devices as well as perform opto-electrical characterization. Prior experience in cleanroom is preferable.
