Company Profile:

The Reserve Bank of India was established on April 1, 1935 in accordance with the provisions of the Reserve Bank of India Act, 1934. The Central Office of the Reserve Bank was initially established in Calcutta but was permanently moved to New Delhi in 1937. The Central Office is where the Governor sits and where policies are formulated. Though originally privately owned, since nationalisation in 1949, the Reserve Bank is fully owned by the Government of India.

Qualifications & Experience:

i) Persons who have at least 25 years of work experience in Public Administration including experience at the level of Secretary or equivalent in the Government of India; or
(ii) from among persons who have at least 25 years of work experience in an Indian or International Public Financial Institution; or
(iii) from among persons of exceptional merit and track record at the national or international level in the relevant field(s).

Age Limit:

Not more than 60 years of age as on 24.7.2019.


The post carries the pay scale of Rs. 2,25,000 (Level 17).
